Prayers from ELCA resources:
A prayer for those seeking deeper knowledge of God (ELW p.76):
Gracious and holy God, give us diligence to seek you, wisdom to perceive you, and patience to wait for you. Grant us, O God, a mind to mediate on you; eyes to behold your; ears to listen for your word; a heart to love you; and a life to proclaim you; though the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen.

A prayer for faithful living in society (ACS p.50):
Sovereign God, your Son Jesus lived within the structures of society even as he spoke truth to those in power and challenged systems of oppression. Empower us to be courageous disciples and responsible citizens. Grant that our life in the public realm be grounded in love for our neighbors, care for the most vulnerable in our midst, and respect for the common life we share, following the example of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
