I have had contact with Dr. Enrique Ramos for quite a few years via Facebook. He just recently reached out to me and out of the blue said he and the institution he represents (along with the Sub-Director of that institution, Dr. Fred Macharia) had an award they wanted to confer upon me. He said they both were thankful and appreciative for the work I have been doing with our edited books on Evangelical Calvinism, along with the furtherance of that through my other writings (here etc). He asked me what my legal given name was, I wasn’t sure why. Then today I found out that they awarded me with an honorary Doctor of Theology (ThD) degree. The honorary doctorate is conferred by the Concordia Academic Theology Consortium International of the General Lutheran Church. The conferring school is Martin Luther School of Bible and Theology. Dr Ramos is the Director of the Consortium and Dr. Macharia the Sub-Director. I am totally humbled and honored to receive this from these brothers! It is very unexpected. I am just thankful that in some small measure the hours of work I have put in over the years is making some noticeable difference for the Kingdom. What is really encouraging to me, personally, is that this doctorate comes from a consortium of institutions whose work is for the Church catholic spanning various continents of the world. Again, I’m humbled and honored! Thank you Drs. Ramos and Macharia for this very thoughtful gesture!
